Splitting NegP in Standard Arabic: A Syntactic Study into VSO Word Order in Negative Sentences

This paper strives to overcome the issues of achieving a VSO word order in negated sentences Standard Arabic. A possible solution would be split Negative projection into two, where higher head hosts negative particle, and lower has ability attract host verb, which falls within scope particle. Splitting proved sufficient maintain integrity validity other theories available Minimalist Program. Moreover, it allows for distinction between A-movement operation, verbs move over Subject position resulting order, A’-Movement operation fronted Determiner Phrase (DP) is moved utmost left focal purposes.
